- The problem
- The previous punch system used shareable PINs, an almost-unauthenticated API and overwrote punch history on every punch — exposing the client to buddy punching, location fraud and unprovable hours in wage disputes.
- What I built
- A time-clock that recognises employees by face from the device's camera, with a check that a live person is present, so nobody can punch for a colleague. Punches are recorded permanently and can only be corrected with a trail, hours are calculated correctly across night shifts, unusual patterns are flagged for review, and weekly overtime reports export to a spreadsheet. Employee personal data is stored encrypted.
- Where it stands
- Version 1 finished on 11 September 2026. Deployment is being set up for the client; not in production yet.
